Frequently asked questions
How do I delete my account?
Open the app, go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account, and confirm. Your profile, photos, messages, and matches are permanently removed within 30 days. Some records may be retained for legal or fraud-prevention purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed and managed by the app store you purchased from. Cancel anytime in:
- iPhone: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Emper → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Emper → Cancel.
Note: uninstalling the app alone does not cancel your subscription.
I'm not getting any matches — what can I do?
A few tips:
- Add at least 3–4 high-quality photos. Use a clear, well-lit photo of just you for your main profile.
- Write a real bio — a couple of honest sentences works better than empty.
- Complete the selfie verification check to earn a Verified badge.
- Be active. Like profiles regularly so others see you.
- Check your discovery filters aren't too narrow.
My selfie verification keeps failing
Verification compares a live selfie to your main profile photo. For best results:
- Use good lighting — face a window or a soft light source.
- Remove sunglasses, hats, or anything covering your face.
- Look straight at the camera and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Make sure your main profile photo is a clear, recent photo of just you.

How do I report a member or content?
Open the member's profile or the offending message, tap the menu icon (three dots), and choose Report. We review every report. For urgent safety concerns, also email safety@emper.fun.
How do I change the email or phone number on my account?
Go to Profile → Settings → Account. Tap the edit icon next to your email to update it. To change your phone number, contact support@emper.fun with your current and new phone numbers — we'll verify your identity and switch it for you.
I can't log in / I'm not receiving the OTP code
First, double-check:
- Your phone number is entered with the correct country code.
- Your device has cellular signal and SMS isn't blocked by a third-party app.
- Wait 60 seconds before requesting a new code.
If you still don't receive the code, email support@emper.fun from the email tied to your account and we'll help you recover access.
How is my location used?
We use your location to show you members within your selected distance and to power proximity features like Connect Now. Your exact location is never shown to other members — only an approximate distance. You can disable location at any time in your phone's settings, though some discovery features will be limited.
Is Emper free?
Yes — Emper is free to download and use. Optional paid subscriptions (Gold and Platinum) unlock premium features like unlimited swipes, seeing who liked you, and Top Picks. See the in-app paywall for current pricing.
I want a refund
Refund requests must be made directly with the app store you purchased through:
- Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google: Google Play refund policy
We do not process refunds directly because we never receive your payment — the app stores handle all billing.

- Don't share financial information or send money to anyone you meet on Emper.
- Be wary of anyone moving conversations off the app quickly or pressuring you for personal details.
- Meet in public places for first dates. Tell a friend where you'll be.

- Report and block users who make you uncomfortable.
